Bosca’s Newt

The Bosca’s Newt (Triturus boscai), also known as the Iberian Newt, or Tritón Ibérico, is a species of salamander found in Portugal and Spain. It has an extensive range of habitats including temperate forests, shrubby vegetation, rivers, intermittent rivers, swamps, freshwater lakes, intermittent freshwater lakes, freshwater marshes, and sandy shores. It also can be found in pastureland, rural gardens, water storage areas, ponds, and introduced vegetation. It is threatened by habitat loss.
