The Magyar AgÃ¡r, also known as the Hungarian Greyhound is a hunting breed which originated in Transylvania and Hungary. The breed is a sight hound used for coursing. It is an ancient, elegant breed.
The Magyar AgÃ¡r resembles the Greyhound in its build. It stands 25 to 27 inches high and weighs 49 to 68 pounds. The breed has small button-shaped ears and bright oval eyes. Its coat is smooth and short and can be any variety of color.
The breed is generally well-behaved and very intelligent. It can be docile and reserved when necessary but is also friendly and faithful to its owner. The breed is still employed today in Hungary as a coursing dog.
The breed generally lives from 12 to 14 years.
