The Polish Hound is a hunting breed which originated in Poland. The breed was highly esteemed by Polish nobility. It hunts primarily by scent. Jozef Pawuslewicz is credited with the development and the registration of the breed.
The breed is large, weighing 50 to 70 pounds and standing 22 to 26 inches tall. The coat of the breed is short and dense. Its color is black and tan. It is a compact, strong breed that is highly mobile.
The Polish Hound is brave and stable. It is not an aggressive breed, but it is suspicious of strangers and makes a wonderful guardian. It is a brave breed which can make an excellent pet and hunting companion.
