Golden Flangetail, Sinictinogomphus clavatus

The golden flangetail (Sinictinogomphus clavatus) is a species of dragonfly that can be found in a large range that extends from Nepal to eastern Russian and Vietnam. Its range includes China, Japan, Korea, and Thailand. It prefers to reside in areas with standing water sources like lakes, ponds, and man-made reservoirs. It is the sole member of its genus, Sinictinogomphus, and is thought to have a stable population. The golden flangetail has no known threats and is not declining in number, so it appears on the IUCN Red List with a conservation status of “Least Concern.â€
