Brachydiplax denticauda

Brachydiplax denticauda is a species of dragonfly that can be found in a range that includes north and northeastern areas of Australia, the Solomon Islands, Papua New Guinea, and Indonesia. It can be found near slow moving freshwater sources. The species is small, so it can be hard to see, but as is typical to its genus, males hold bright colors such as powder blue with a cream color on the mouth. This trait has given it the common name of palemouth. It is thought to have a stable population and has no known threats, so it appears on the IUCN Red List with a conservation status of “Least Concern.â€
