The Horsfield’s Tarsier, Tarsius bancanus, is a species of tarsier found in Brunei, Indonesia, and Malaysia. These nocturnal animals live in forests and have big eyes to help aid in capture of prey. It is also known as the Western tarsier.
It is carnivorous, and nutrition is found mainly in the form of insects, but also small vertebrates. An individual can consume up to 10% of its body fat weight in one day. Western Tarsiers also possess a great sense of hearing and smell. Just one eye weighs more than any part of the body.
