Argopecten Irradians

Argopecten irradians, previously classified as Aequipecten irradians, also known as Atlantic bay scallop or bay scallop, is an edible species of saltwater clam, a scallop, and a marine bivalve mollusk belonging to the family Pectinidae.

This species has five subspecies: A. I. amplicostatus, A. I. concentric us, A. I. arradians, A. I. sablensis, and A. I. taylorae.
