European Copper Skink
The European Copper Skink, Ablepharus kitaibelii, also known as the Juniper Skink or Snake-eyed Skink, is a species of lizard from the skink family Scincidae. This lizard is found in Eastern Europe and southwestern Asia. It is found under stones and leaves in dry places, such as slopes, fields, and meadows.
The Copper Skink has immovable eyelids unlike many other skinks. It has bronze colored skin with dark sides. They are small and slender and grow up to about 6 inches long. They are also shy creatures that are active mainly at twilight. It hunts for for insects and small snails. It is a typical ground dweller, and dislikes climbing.
