Amazon Tree Boa

The Amazon Tree Boa, Corallus hortulanus, is a close relative to the Emerald Tree Boa and has been known to hybridize with them in captivity. They are found throughout South America, typically in regions below 300 meters (985 feet).

These snakes generally have two color phases, which are genetically inherited. The “˜garden’ phase refers to boas with drab coloration, mostly brown or olive, with varied patterning. The “˜colored’ phase refers to snakes with combinations of red, orange, and yellow colors.
