Bulletin of the American Mathematical Society

The Bulletin of the American Mathematical Society (Bull. Amer. Math. Soc.) is published quarterly by the American Mathematical Society. It publishes surveys on contemporary research topics and book reviews, both by invitation only. It has been in publication since 1891. The editor-in-chief is Susan J. Friedlander.

This journal started life as the Bulletin of the New York Mathematical Society. The name change occurred when the society became national in July 1894. The actual function of the journal has also changed over the years; its original purpose was to serve as a research tool for its members.
