Cardiology, Journal

Cardiology is a medical journal established in 1937 (originally under the name Cardiologia) by Bruno Kisch and Wilhelm Loffler. Its name was changed to Cardiology in 1971. It is published by Karger. The editor-in-chief is J.S. Borer. This journal is subtitled ‘International Journal of Cardiovascular Medicine, Surgery, Pathology and Pharmacology.’ In 2005 it incorporated the medical journal Heart Drug.

Topics covered by the journal are published first reports on original clinical, preclinical and fundamental research as well as novel insights from clinical experience and topical comprehensive reviews in selected areas of cardiovascular disease. Since incorporating the journal Heart Drug, Cardiology has included coverage of issues relating to cardiovascular clinical pharmacology and drug trials.

Articles published in this journal include those that fall under Original Research, Clinical Trial Design, Letters to the Editor, Short Communications, Reviews, Turning Basic Research into Clinical Success, and Novel Insights from Clinical Experience.
