Automation and Remote Control

Automation and Remote Control is a Russian periodical published by MAIK Nauka/Interperiodica Press. It is distributed in English exclusively by Springer Science. It has been online since August 2004. The journal was founded in April 1936 by the USSR Academy of Sciences Department of Engineering, Mechanics and Control Processes Problems, along with the Trapeznikov Institute of Control Sciences of USSR Academy of Sciences and Institute of Information Transmission Problems of USSR Academy of Sciences.

The journal was originally published bimonthly. In 1956 the journal moved to monthly publications. As of May 2012, the editor-in-chief is Stanislav Vassilyev (Russian Academy of Sciences).

This became the first journal in the area of control systems. The scope of the journal is now control theory problems and applications. It illustrates researches and developments in the area of science and techniques in the field of the automatic control theory. During its existence, the scope of the journal substantially evolved and expanded to reflect virtually all subjects concerned in one way or another with the current science of control.

The journal covers surveys, original papers, and short communications in the following fields: Deterministic systems, Stochastic systems, Queuing systems, Discrete systems, Adaptive systems, Robust systems, Developing systems, Simulation of Behavior and Intellect, Control Hardware, Computer-Aided Production Control Systems, Computers in Control, Automation of Design and Programming, Control in Biological systems and Medicine, Automata, Technical Diagnostics, Reliability, Computing Techniques in Automatic Control, Technical Tools in Control, Process control, and Social and economy control.
