German Medical Weekly (Deutsche Medizinische Wochenschrift)

German Medical Weekly (Deutsche Medizinische Wochenschrift) is a German medical journal established in 1875 by Paul Borner. It was a high-ranking journal during the 1980s, but since has lost much of its preeminence due to the declining importance of the German language in medical publications and the appearance of a large number of new medical journals in published in English.

As of May 2012, the current publisher is Georg Thieme Verlag, and editor-in-chief is Martin Middeke. In 2008, the journal was ranked 86 of 107 journals in the category “General and Internal Medicine.”
