Winter Weather Outlook for November-February for Fargo, ND

November 2012: The month will start out mild, however it will quickly turn colder with the forecasted average for the month around 30-40F, with the potential of seeing 3-5days warmer and 4-6days colder. Winter weather impacts include the chance of seeing about 1-2in of snowfall for the month.

December 2012. The month will be fairly cold as average temps are forecasted to be around 20-30F with the chance of seeing 2-4 days being a touch warmer, while also there will be the chance of seeing 10-12 days colder than that. The winter precipitation for the month will include upwards to 3-5in of snowfall.

January 2013:  This will be by far the coldest month of the winter with many nights dropping into the double digits below zero and high temps only in the single digits above and below zero. The forecasted average temps for the month will be 0-10F with the possibility of seeing 6-8 days above that and also 6-8 days colder than that average. The winter precipitation for the month will be lower because of the dry and cold air in place but will be around 2-4in.

February 2013: The month is going to start out cold, but slowly moderate as the month goes on. The forecasted average temps will be right around 10-20F with the potential of seeing 8-10 days warmer than that and also 6-8 days of being colder than average. The month’s precipitation will be a tad bit lower with only seeing 1-2in of snowfall for the month possible.

Discussion: This winter looks to be a pretty hard and cold winter with temps spending many days below zero. The drier air is going to make for some temp changes from day to day along with little precipitation.
