Lanceleaf Thorow-wax, Bupleurum lancifolium

The Lanceleaf Thorow-wax (Bupleurum lancifolium) s a member of the carrot family indigenous to the Mediterranean Basin. This flowering plant grows over 19 inches in height a smooth pliable stem with matte green oval shaped leaves at its base which grow from approximately 1-4 inches in length. The inflorescences nearly equal in length, spread from a common center growing from a sturdy stalk that can be several inches in length. The base of the inflorescences is encircled by 5 wide and pointy oval shaped bractlets. The flowers of this plant are yellow with sometimes a hint of green.
