Swan River Pea, Gastrolobium celsianum

Gastrolobium celsianum,also known as the Swan River Pea, is a member of the Fabaceae family and is indigenous to Southwest Australia. Many species of this family are poisonous, but the toxicity of this tree is unknown. It can grow up to approximately 3 feet tall and nearly 10 feet wide. It features vibrant red tubular flowers and glossy green leaves with silvery undersides.

The Swan River Pea grows in sandy or rocky soils along waterways. It is tolerant of a wide range of soils and thrives in full sunlight.
