Broad-leaved Brachysema, Gastrolobium minus

Gastrolobium minus or Broad-leaved Brachysema, a member of the Fabaceae family is an indigenous shrub of Southwest Australia. While many members of the Gastrolobium genus are poisonous, the toxicity of this plant is unknown. It grows to just over 3 feet wide featuring oblong leaves that are deep green on top and a smooth bottom and rust colored flowers. The plant grows best in well drained soil and a slight shade and is often used as a ground cover or in container gardens.
