Elephant Tree, Bursera microphylla

Bursera microphylla or Elephant Tree is a tree indigenous to Northern Mexico and the Southwestern United States. It grows on average approximately 12-15 feet in height with pale grayish white bark and straight flat bean-like leaves. Spherical yellow buds bloom into white five point flowers which produce fruit consisting of an outer skin, a fleshy middle layer, and a hard yellow stone protecting the seed.
