The N-Gage QD is a mobile phone, handheld game console combination released by Nokia on May 26, 2004. It was redesigned from the original N-Gage to be smaller and rounder.
A few flaws from the original N-Gage were corrected. The cartridge slot was in a more convenient place located on the bottom of the device and the earpiece was moved to the face of the unit.
Other changes in the unit were MP3 playback, FM radio and a USB connection were removed. However, MP3s could still be played with third party software. The unit’s buttons were unchanged except for the directional pad. The original was a five-way controller, four-directional pad and a center ok button. The QD featured a four-way controller with a separate ok button.
On September 1, 2005 an N-Gage QD Silver Edition was released in Europe, Middle East, and Africa.
It used an ARM9E CPU and had 3.4MB of internal memory.
