Digital Reader 1000

The Digital Reader 1000 (DR1000) was produced by iRex Technologies in the Netherlands and released on September 22, 2008. The DR1000 is an e-Book reading device made in three versions: the DR1000 does not have a touchscreen; DR1000S has a touchscreen; and the DR1000SW has a touchscreen with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity. Production of this device was discontinued in 2010 when iRex filed for bankruptcy.

The unit has a 10.2 inch screen, uses Linux 2.6 operating system, has 128 MB of memory with a 1GB SD included, and is capable of using up to a 32 GB SD card. It was capable of storing 1,000 documents or pictures. The S and SW models were compatible with the Wacom stylus. Battery life of the DR1000 is 12 hours.

The DR1000 can display text formats in PDF, TXT, HTML, and Mobipocket. Image display formats include JPEG, PNG, GIF, TIFF and BMP.
