HTC Flyer

The HTC Flyer or HTC EVO View 4G is a tablet computer released in May 2011 by the HTC Corporation. It is powered by Android 2.3.3 (Gingerbread). Later in 2011, the Android 3.2.1 version was released and the Flyer can be now updated to Android Jelly Bean 4.1.1 by the use of custom ROM’s. A Wi-Fi version was released on May 22, 2011, but was discontinued in December 2011.

It has an optional HTC Scribe digital pen that a user can capture any on-screen content with notes and drawings using a battery powered, active, non-capacitive digital stylus. The display is a 7-inch touchscreen. It is compatible with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 3.0, and with dual microphones for noise reduction. The Flyer also supports Adobe Flash 10.3 and HTML5.

The Flyer has a 5 MP rear camera with auto focus and a 1.3 MP front camera for video chatting. It has 1GB of RAM, 32GB of memory and a microSD card slot.

Thousands of software and apps are available for the Flyer including browsers, business apps, dictionary apps, e-mail, weather apps, multimedia apps, and more.

Some available accessories for the Flyer are backup batteries, Bluetooth headsets, car kits, cases, chargers, cables, cradles, memory cards, screen protectors, and stylus.

Best Buy was the only retailer to offer the Flyer when the product was released in 2011, and Sprint is the only carrier that will sell the 4G model with black and red.
