Flag on the Moon Seen Prior to Departure

The third U.S. flag to be deployed on the lunar surface, footprints, wheel tracks and Rickshaw-type portable workbench, as seen by the Apollo 14 crewmen from inside the Lunar Module, after a busy first extravehicular activity period (EVA-1). The two-wheeled cart is the Apollo Modularized Equipment Transporter (MET), covered with a sheet of foil material to protect the cameras and rock box between EVAs. Posted on: 05 May, 2003
