Washington, D.C. was imaged by ASTER on June 1, 2000 in this 14 by 13.7 km sub-scene. The combination of visible and near infrared bands displays vegetation in red, and water in dark grays. The 15 m spatial resolution allows us to see individual buildings, including the White House, the Jefferson Memorial, and the Washington Monument with its shadow. Posted on: 31 Mar, 2003
