Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia is visible in this SPOT image. The old town center to the southwest of the center of the image is dominated by Ljubljana Castle which sits on the small hill in the bend of the Ljubljana River. The castle, which is from the 12th Century, survived the 1895 earthquake that hit the city that left much of the city flattened. The rebuilt area had distinctive red roof tiles which are visible in the image.
