Haze Over Korea

Haze lingered over the Korean Peninsula recently, when the MODIS on NASA's Aqua satellite captured this image. In this picture, the haze appears slightly less intense than the previous day. As with the conditions on October 9, however, the haze may not be totally due to pollution - some of the haze may have resulted from the fires on Sumatra and Borneo.

In this image, the Korean peninsula is in the center of the image. The islands of Japan are in the lower right corner, separate from Korea by the Sea of Japan. East of Korea is the Yellow Sea - and north of Korea is China.
