The Red Sea dominates this image of the eastern Africa and the Middle East. On the left side of the image is Africa, with the countries of Egypt, Sudan, Eritrea, and Ethiopia. On the right is Saudi Arabia.
Part of the Nile River is visible in Egypt, even though this image only shows a small portion of Egypt. There is a plume of dust visible over the Red Sea, in the far right of the image, coming off Saudi Arabia.
This image was captured by the MODIS on the Terra satellite on June 5, 2007.
