This Envisat image, acquired by Envisat’s Medium Resolution Imaging Spectrometer (MERIS) instrument on 10 March 2008, features the Nenets Autonomous Okrug region and an icy Pechora Sea in Arctic Northwest Russia. The Nenets Autonomous Okrug has shorelines on the Barents (blue water in upper left hand corner), White (visible on left side of image) and Kara seas (not visible). The round snow-covered depression visible in the upper left hand corner is Kolguyev Island.
