Smoke from intense fires in southeastern Russia poured over the Sea of Okhotsk on June 30, 2008. This image was captured on that same day by the MODIS on the Aqua satellite.
The fires, each marked with a red dot, are affecting Amur, Khabarovsk, and southern Sakha Provinces in Russia’s Far East. The Sea of Okhotsk is visible on the right saide of the image. China is in the lower left.
