Soaring like a bird above the Sierra Nevada snowscape, a NASA ER-2 high-altitude Earth science aircraft banks during flight. NASA's Dryden Flight Research Center operates two of these aircraft on a wide variety of environmental science, atmospheric sampling and satellite data verification missions.
