Flooding continues in already hard-hit Bangladesh and India, as shown in this false-color Terra MODIS image from October 20, 2004. Just two weeks prior, one of the worst tropical storms on record dumped heavy raid for several days on the region, triggering floods that claimed the lives of over 150 people. Flooding was most severe along the Jamuna River at upper and center right, though the Brahmaputra and other local rivers flooded as well. Dark blue and black represent water in this scene, while bright green is vegetation and white and light blue are snow and ice, respectively. A tiny bit of tan at the upper right edge represents bare land. The underlying image is a true-color version of the scene.
