This ASAR (Advanced Synthetic Aperture Radar) image is of the Los Angeles Metropolitan Area.

With a population of 9.5 million and encompassing 88 cities, the county is the largest in the USA. Looking at the image in detail we can see numerous city features including the main airports, Los Angeles International and John Wayne Airport and Burbank-Glendale-Pasadena in the San Fernando Valley.

Also recognizable are Griffith Park and Mount Hollywood, The Rose Bowl in Pasadena and Dodgers Stadium, amongst numerous other landmarks. Out into the Pacific numerous boats shown up as bright specks around San Pedro Bay and Los Angeles Harbor. Further offshore lies the San Catalina Island.
