This ASAR wide-swath multitemporal color composite image is centered over the Indonesian island of Java . The image shows the volcanic mountain chain, with 35 active craters, that crosses the island from east to west. It also shows the low coastal plain adjoining the mountains on the north and the southern part of the island. The city capital of the Republic of Indonesia, Jakarta is visible (bright greenish area) in the center left of the image. The bright area in the center of the island is the city of Bandung. The image was made of three ASAR images acquired on different dates, by assigning a color (RGB) to each date.
