This 27 September 2004 Proba's HRC image shows clearly the massive aluminum roof of the Hong Kong Exhibition and Conference Center, perched beside the harbor. This historic local landmark is where China formally regained sovereignty of the colony from the UK in 1997.
The Project for On-Board Autonomy (Proba) is a technology demonstration mission of the European Space Agency. HRC is a miniaturized Cassegrain telescope imaging 25 sq km black and white scenes using the target point and store capability of the spacecraft.
