This Medium Resolution Imaging Spectrometer (MERIS) images shows the southwestern coast of Mexico, where the city of Acapulco is easily recognizable from its position on Acapulco Bay.

Inland, Mexico City is visible from its high position in the center of the Sierra Madre. The large body of water at the extreme left edge of the image is the Presa del Infiernillo, a reservoir created by the Infiernillo Dam (not visible in the image).
