This Advanced Synthetic Aperture Radar (ASAR) multitemporal color composite image shows an area of 100 Km swath width over the Plateau of Iran region located in the southeastern part of Iran.

The Lut Desert that largely consists of sand and rock covers most of the image. The bright area lower center left of the image is the historically important oasis town of Bam that was struck by a powerful earthquake on December 26, 2003.

The image is made of three ASAR images acquired on different dates and assigning a color ( RGB ) to each date (RED: June 11 2003, GREEN: December 03, 2003 , BLUE: January 07, 2004).
