Dust Storm Over the Persian Gulf
A dust storm blew out over the Persian Gulf, on February 5, 2007, which the MODIS on the Terra satellite captured as it orbited above. The dust, constrasting with the green waters of the Gulf, swirls in streamers, arcs, and parallel lines.
The country borders are denoted by the black lines. The countries shown in this image are, counterclockwise, Iran, Iraq, Kuwait, and Saudi Arabia. In the lower right is the peninsular countray or Qatar.
