East Coast Snow Storm
This image, acquired by the MODIS on the Terra satellite on March 18, 2007, shows the snow storm that hit the East Coast of the United States. The snow/sleet line is very clearly delineated and runs through central NJ, northern Delaware, Maryland, and Virginia.
Eight inches of snow fell near Frostburg, in Western, MD, while the Washington, DC area, further east, got mostly sleet. New York City had 5 inches, which caused a lot of cleanup for in order for the annual St. Patrick's Day parade to take place. Up to 2 feet of snow fell in New York's northern Catskills.
