Thin Clouds over Southwest Asia
March 8, 2008
Thin clouds veiled Southwest Asia on March 4, 2008 when the MODIS on the Aqua satellite captured this image. The countries visible in this image are, from left to right: Iran, Turkmenistan, Afghanistan, Pakistan, and India.
The mountainous regions of Pakistan and Afghanistan are covered in snow - if you compare this image to a topographic map, it's easier to make out where the mountains and rivers lie.
