Dust Over the Mediterranean
The MODIS on the Aqua satellite took this image of dust over the Mediterranean on March 25, 2008. This dust is part of a late March storm, which blew Saharan dust over the region.
On March 24, the dust covers the Black Sea and Turkey, but only covers the western edges of Cyprus and the Nile River Delta. On March 25, the dust has moved east and completely covers the green Nile Delta, the eastern portion of Cyprus, and also veils countries east of the Mediterranean, like Lebanon and Israel.
