Herschelâ€™s telescope mirror covered with a protective foil

The Herschel spacecraft in the S1B clean room at Europe's launch site (CSG) in Kourou, French Guiana, at the end of February 2009. A protective foil is draped over the satellite to protect Herschel's giant primary mirror from contamination.
