Mercator Projection of Titan Views at Different Altitudes
November 17, 2009
These images are Mercator projections of Huygens's view of Titan, taken at 4 different altitudes (in a Mercator projection the cardinal directions are kept intact - they cross at right angles - but surface areas are distorted). The images were taken during descent by the Descent Imager/Spectral Radiometer (DISR) on board Huygens, on 14 January 2005.
