Network Infomechanical Systems -- Washington State (Image 5) A robotic sensor node is deployed over the Mercer River in Washington state. The data from the river deployment has been very exciting because it permits researchers to directly visualize the distribution and even flow of contaminants. The sensor node is part of UCLA's Network Infomechanical Systems (NIMS) project of the Center for Embedded Networked Sensing (CENS). [One of several related images.
