June 10, 2010
Lower Cambrian through Middle Ordovician rocks of Estonia. This 28-meter-high section is exposed along the North Estonian Klint at Valaste. It is a highly condensed sedimentary sequence from which the Middle and Upper Cambrian are missing. This picture was taken while conducting fieldwork for National Science Foundation-sponsored grant "Collaborative Research Graptolite Macroevolution: Phylogenetic Analysis and Testing Hypotheses of Directional Change" (EAR 01-06844).
