A biosensor made from an array of silver nanoparticles deposited on glass.
June 10, 2010
This biosensor is made from an array of silver nanoparticles deposited on glass. The nanoparticles are surrounded by strong electric and magnetic fields that change when molecules from the environment bind to the sensor. This work was performed at the Northwestern University Nanoscale Science and Engineering Center, a National Science Foundation Engineering Research Center (established under grant EEC 01-18025).
