Microcontact Printing Pins (Image 4)

June 23, 2010
Microcontact Printing Pins (Image 4) These micromachined silicon pins can imbibe solutions of DNA or proteins and, by virtue of their precisely fabricated tips and reservoirs, can accurately and precisely deliver small drops (~200pL) of these solutions to a substrate to create a so-called "DNA Microarray." This work was funded by a grant from the National Science Foundation Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Program. (Date of Image: 2004) [One of four related images. See Next Image.]
