Manduca Project (Image 2) A student participant of The University of Arizona's Manduca Project, picks a tobacco hornworm (Manduca sexta) from a tobacco plant. Initiated in 1991, the Manduca Project--an outreach program for grades K-3--provides resources for student explorations with Manduca sexta. It has demonstrated the insect's usefulness both as a research subject and as a bridge between the university and the public schools. For more information, visit the Manduca Project Web site.
