Suppressing Colony Formation Suppressing colony formation is a useful strategy against copepods because they prefer to eat colonies of phytoplankton. This image was photographed using equipment (microscope and camera) funded by the National Science Foundation and NSF provided funds for supplies for the collection of these organisms.
