Urban Visualization and Planning Studies (Image 4) An interactive, real-time visualization of what High Occupancy Managed Lanes (HOM Lanes) might look like on the I-95 corridor. The visualization was created by the Center for Computational Research (CCR) at the University at Buffalo (UB), who provided Bergmann Associates and the Florida Department of Transportation with the interactive, real-time visualization. In order to create the application, a traffic simulation was processed and incorporated into a detailed 3-D model showing proposed striping, signage and appropriate peripheral structures needed to implement this plan. CCR is a member of The Coalition for Academic Scientific Computation, or CASC. The National Science Foundation is one of several federal agencies in partnership with CASC, whose members develop partnerships with federal and state government entities, as well as with private industry leaders, to contribute to strategic national goals.
