Pre-Service Teacher Program (Image 2) Vanessa Garcia, a Noyce Scholar (undergraduate) from California State University-Fresno, is working on her research project in which she is sorting and quantifying invertebrates at the Oak Ridge National Laboratories under the U.S. Department of Energy's PreService Teacher Internship program 2007. The U.S. Department of Energy's (DOE) Pre-Service Teacher (PST) Internship Program provides laboratory research opportunities to highly motivated pre-service teachers (undergraduates or graduate students preparing to be teachers). Several areas of the program are linked to National Science Foundation support, which has helped provide for students to participate in research internships under the USDA PST program.
