Dust Storm in Pakistan
December 27, 2004
Bands of dust blow south over the Arabian Sea during a dust storm that the Terra MODIS instrument imaged on December 19, 2004. The veil extends from the Pakistan-Iran border in the west up to the Afghanistan border in the north, and beyond the India border in the east. It seems to originate near the base of the Chagai Hills near the Afghanistan border. Dust storms of this magnitude are common in this region.
